About the Registered Nurse | Oncology
Due to increased demand, our client has asked us to recruit Registered Nurses with strong clinical skills to join their Oncology unit to provide specialist care to their oncology, haematology and palliative patients.

This role reports to the Nurse Unit Manager and will include:
  • Integrating your technical skills, scientific knowledge and caring attitude to aid those living with cancer, including their families, starting from the point of diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and through to the end of life care
  • Applying your clinical expertise and knowledge of chemotherapy targeted therapy administration and central venous line management, including medical same-day infusions
  • Identifying when a more detailed assessment and/or intervention is required and seeking the input of clinical peers, the General Practitioner and other relevant health professionals
  • Compliance with, and application of, current policies and procedures as well as an understanding of their implications for nursing practice and patient outcomes
  • Building relationships with patients and their families while going above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes

Skills & experience required for this Registered Nurse | Day Oncology role:
  • Evidence of tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post Graduate Qualifications in Oncology/Haematology Nursing or willingness to work towards
  • Demonstrated recency of practice with a minimum of 2 years of oncology/haematology experience, including administration of chemotherapy in a day infusion setting
  • Proficiency in CVAD management and IV cannulation skills, as well as the ability to complete eviQ competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and educate patients pre, during and post-chemotherapy, including in-depth knowledge of the expected side effects of cancer treatments
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, share information and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team, including the ability to build trust
